Long story short
When we were contacted by Dell to help create a new video showcasing their leading range of professional-grade webcams, we jumped at the opportunity. Our work included scriptwriting, storyboarding, video production, and localisation. The final asset was incredibly well received and is currently being used to train Dell’s global sales teams, helping them better communicate the benefits and features of this high-quality line of products.
About Dell
Dell is one of the most recognisable brands in the world. Countless businesses rely on Dell technology and services to drive digital and workforce transformation initiatives from edge, to core, to cloud. Luxid has been supporting Dell in its mission to drive human progress for years and our relationship shows no signs of slowing down.
Challenge
Having recently expanded its portfolio of webcams, Dell identified a need to train up its global sales teams on what the range had to offer. Our stakeholder wanted to create an educational video that could be circulated internally and outline how each model in the range met the needs of consumers working to different budgets. They were quickly referred to Luxid based on our work on a previous project promoting Dell’s IPS Black monitors. Our team would be responsible for delivering every aspect of the video, from initial concepting, through to managing the shoot, and localisation.
Solution
We kicked off the project with several scoping meetings to better understand our stakeholder’s needs. Following this, we reviewed all collateral documents provided before drawing up a script. We then started the storyboarding process. This helped us outline a visual narrative and plan the shoot itself, as we intended to “shoot to edit” specific clips.
For the shoot, we decided that Luxid would have several staff attending to offer necessary perspectives. Our Motion Designer could work closely with the studio’s Director of Photography to ensure every shot worked for the edit. The shoot was a full day, after which the content was compiled into an initial edit based on the storyboard.
When green screen backgrounds designed by Luxid Visual Artists were added, the edit really came to life. After some minor edits, we arranged the recording of a voiceover for the script, as well as adding music and captions. The video was then reviewed by Dell’s Global Brand team. Once approved, it was delivered to the client and we began work on localisation. We created 6 other language versions of the video, as well as additional smaller videos which showcased each webcam on an individual basis. In total, 30 videos were created for the client.
Results
After delivery, we received very positive feedback. Our stakeholder was not only impressed by the quality of the final asset, but also the level of professionalism showcased throughout the project, commenting that the Luxid team had been a pleasure to work with and they would certainly recommend us to others.
