Luxid Project Manager Heidi Heikkilä dreamed of doing lots of different jobs when she was a child. Architect, brain surgeon, kindergarten teacher, shop sales assistant were just some of the careers she considered at a young age.

And Heidi has retained that sense of openness to different possibilities in adult life. “I love how our individual personal paths take shape and how we grow in life,” says Heidi. “It’s about being present and open and cherishing each moment - trying to enjoy and live each day.”

For Heidi, this can only be achieved by taking risks and being determined: “I’m proud of the steps I’ve taken away from the safety and comfort of the familiar – both in my career and personal life path. Those moments require openness to the new, hard work and courage - and they can be hugely rewarding over time.”

It was with an open mind and maybe just a little courage that Heidi decided to focus on business and marketing at university. She did her BA in Marketing at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, before going to Australia to do her Masters in Marketing at Brisbane University. She completed her studies with an MSc in Management and Business Development at Vaasa University, back in Finland.

And luckily for Luxid she is now applying all of this great training and education to her work at the agency. “As a Project Manager I get an invaluable glimpse into a multitude of digital marketing and sales strategies, creative solutions, and technical set-ups across global B2B and DTC industries and clients.”

Right now, Heidi is working across lots of exciting tasks: with the eCommerce go-to-market team on client projects, with the UK creative team on EMEA regional projects, and with the Luxid central marketing team. And in addition to all that, Heidi is also the local agency contact for BBN – the international agency partnership that Luxid is a member of and co-owns.

Heidi describes herself as a planner and says she is passionate about planning and building and leaving things just that little bit better each day. “I genuinely enjoy seeing our clients, my colleagues and friends grow, and reach ever higher goals,” says Heidi.

She says that she loves life at Luxid because of the opportunities it gives her to work with the latest digital marketing and sales technologies and to use data to create amazing customer journeys and personalised experiences.

When asked to choose which of Luxid values – trailblazing, driven, resourceful and sincere – she most relates to, Heidi struggles and says all of them! “I really live all these values each day,” asserts Heidi. “I try to be supportive, honest, and creative, while continuously learning and looking for ways to create value and help our clients grow.”

Outside of work, Heidi is big on all things creative: “I love experiencing new cultures, art, design, theatre, dance, music as well as book, webinars and podcasts.” And when she’s not immersed in a cultural pursuit, Heidi likes throwing herself into social activities. “I´m a fun-loving person at heart so a good laughter, board games, sports and dining with friends, long hearty discussions, or sometimes just dancing the night away.”

If Heidi could make one change in the world? “For our societies to adapt to the rapid pace of technological change, we need to have more informed, constructive discussions. We have complex issues to solve and this must be done together, with all the necessary compromises and taking account of different viewpoints.”

If like Heidi, you’re open to new opportunities, and love working in an environment with creative thinking and using the latest technologies, then Luxid could be just the place for you. Everything you need to know about working for Luxid is here.
